About us

We are a registered charity, with a group of committed volunteers, providing challenge, adventure and the development of life skills to over 300 young people aged 6 to 25 in the north west of County Durham.

Derwentside provides and supports:

• five groups, each with Beaver, Cub and Scout sections, running activities for 6-14 year olds

• a District Explorer Unit for 14-18 year olds

• a Scout Network for 18-25 year olds
