District minibus

Our District minibus is available for booking by Scout Groups, Explorer Units, Scout Districts and Scout Counties. Charges are made on a cost-recovery basis to contribute towards fuel, insurance, servicing and maintenance.

We have a 2016 Ford Tourneo Custom LWB minibus with 8 passenger seats. The minibus has a tow bar with a standard 7 pin connection. Breakdown cover is provided.

Our minibus does not require a D1 licence.

Eligibility

• You must have your own Section 19 Permit

Drivers must:

• Be aged between 21 and 70 inclusive

• Have held a full UK or EU driving licence for at least 2 years

• Agree to share any licence endorsements electronically

• Meet all insurance requirements

• Be authorised by Derwentside District Scouts

• Preferably hold a current MIDAS minibus certificate or equivalent

Cost-recovery charge

Evening session £15 plus 65p per mile

Full day (24 hours) £25 plus 65p per mile

Weekend (48 hours) £40 plus 65p per mile

Week (5 days) £100 plus 65p per mile

Week (7 days) £120 plus 65p per mile
