District indoor air rifle range

Our District has an NSRA Affiliated Shooting Club and has purchased air rifle equipment suitable for Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and adults.

We have a range available in Leadgate and there are two options for using it:

• Ask if someone within the district who is authorised to use the range, is able run a session for you and they will help where they can, or

• Run your own session if you have someone with the relevant qualification, they have been through our standard operating procedure briefing on the use of the range and equipment and they have been approved by the District Lead Volunteer.

Written parental permission is needed before any youth member can take part in a shooting activity. For Scouts, Explorers and adults, this must include the s21 declaration. You can find the form here.

Badge work

This activity could be a one-off or work towards these badges. It could also be used to complete the NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme.

Cost

£3.00 per youth member for a two hour session to contribute towards consumable costs. Minimum of 6, maximmum of 12.

No leader or qualification holder to accompany your cubs/scouts/explorers? No problem as these can be provided, subject to availability, to run the activity.
