Scouting is a uniformed organisation, and each section has its own identifiable uniform which should be worn. However, we are an inclusive organisation, and try to ensure that no one is excluded. Uniform can be quite expensive, but your leaders are able to access grants which can pay up to 50% of the cost of new uniforms. Please ask your leader for information - the grants are there to be used!
Our current uniform is practical and smart. The information below gives details of what uniform is required and where you can buy it from.
There are also links on the left of this page which will show you where badges go on the uniforms.
If you have any questions about uniform, please speak to your leader.
Please make sure you buy official Scout garments. The information below lists local shops which sell Scout uniforms.
Each section has a main core or compulsory uniform, and some optional garments. The core uniforms for each section are:-
Beaver Scouts - Turquoise sweatshirt. Navy activity trousers are an option.
Cub Scouts - Green sweatshirt. Navy activity trousers are an option.
Scouts - Teal Blue Shirt / Blouse, navy activity trousers, scout belt.
Explorer Scouts - Dark Beige shirt / blouse, navy activity trousers, scout belt.
Network and Adults - Light Beige shirt / blouse, navy activity trousers, scout belt.
Neckerchiefs and badges should be supplied by your group.
Other garments are available, such as polo shirts, shorts, jackets and baseball caps, but these are not uniform, they are only for activity wear.
