Consett Scouts beat off tough competition to win the District Indoor Games Trophy earlier this month.
Alex Harrison, Chris Smith, Andrew Remmer, Abigail Foster, Jordan Davis and Ryan Robson competed against teams from Dipton, Blackhill and Leadgate in what was a very close competition. Games included table tennis, pool, table football, darts, draughts and Scout ball (a form of basketball).
We cannot remember the last time Consett Scouts won a district competition in recent years, but hopefully this will be the first of many trophies.
Scouts from 1st Leadgate have won the oldest Scout competition in County Durham. The Vaux Ambulance First Aid Competition has been running for 90 years, and Leadgate last won back in the 1930s.
The Vaux competition is considered to be one of the most difficult competitions and the team had worked hard to prepare , but it paid off, as they beat the other teams from around the County.
